Ginger and Fred, or the Dancing House, is located on the right bank of the Vltava River on the corner of Jirásek square and Rašín’s riverbank.
The name of this house was inspired by the famous dance couple from the interwar period, Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers – hence Ginger and Fred.
The interiors of offices that can be found inside of the building were designed by a well-known British architect of Czech origin – Eva Jiřičná. The actual Dancing House was designed by Vlado Milunič together with Frank O. Gehry.
Construction of the Dancing House sparked much discussion about architecture in Prague and has received many awards. In the building there are offices and a restaurant.
